As a mobile provider, we offer a wide range of meaningful outdoor educational camp programs that can vary from journey based programs (e.g bushwalking/kayaking expeditions) to residential camps operating at different locations throughout SA.

The Role

We are seeking Outdoor Education Facilitators to join our team who are passionate about the outdoors and want to make an impact on the lives of school children by delivering our unique hands-on curriculum-based outdoor activities.

In addition to the delivery of our school programs, there are teambuilding & outdoor experiences such as bushwalking, canoe/kayaking, group initiatives and low ropes for all ages and parts of the community.

Facilitators report to their Lead Facilitator and We strive for ongoing enhancement of our staff's skills and knowledge through active learning, with the goal of helping our facilitators grow into lead facilitator roles over time.

Qualifications

A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable (e.g Cert 4 or Diploma Outdoor Recreation, Primary / Secondary / Outdoor Ed Teacher - Role may also suit current students)

In addition it is desirable for applicants to have suitable program specific knowledge (e,g Environment / Aboriginal Culture / Coastal Ecology).

Other Desirable Qualifications

Bushwalking (BLSA or Equivalent)
Flatwater Kayak / Canoe Guide or Instructor (Australian Canoeing endorsed)
Surf Rescue Certificate / Bronze Medallion
Food Safe Handling and Hygiene

Requirements for this role (to be gained before beginning work):

Current driver’s licence (Manual licence)
First Aid (Remote/Wilderness provides more opportunities)
Current National Criminal Check (No older than 3 months)
Current Working With Children's Check
Mandatory Notification / Responding to Abuse & Neglect (RAN-EC) Training
Ability to travel & stay away for extended periods (e.g. up to a 5 days at a time).
Physical fitness for prolonged outdoor duties
