2016 SATA Gold Medal

For the First time in 2016 we entered our School Camp and Student Tour Services into the South Australian Tourism Awards. We were awarded a gold medal as Runner Up in the Specialised Tourism Services Category.

The South Australian Tourism Awards are presented by the South Australian Tourism Industry Council and proudly supported by the South Australian Tourism Commission. 

Industry Leader

On the back of our SATIC GOLD Medal in 2016, we were identified throughout Australia as being industry leaders in the School Camp and Student tour industry. As part of this recognition were we approached to be part of the Industry Leaders TV show for Foxtel.

2017 SATA Silver Medal

In 2017 we again entered our School Camp and Student Tour Services into the South Australian Tourism Awards. With a restructure of the Awards process we were awarded a Silver medal as Outright Runner Up in the Specialised Tourism Services Category.

ATAP Accreditation

Active Education has been accredited by the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program (ATAP) since 2012 with the Camps & Adventure endorsement. 

Previous to this we were accredited by the Australian Camps Association under the Camping with Confidence program where we were South Australia's first Accredited Activity Provider

Brand South Australia is a not-for-profit, member-based organisation that uniquely connects with the South Australian government, media and businesses, to promote confidence and pride in South Australia’s creativity, innovation and industriousness.

Life Membership

Julie Parr, Managing Director of Active Education, was inducted as a Life Member of the The Australian Camps Association (ACA) - Australia's peak body for residential camps and outdoor activity providers.

Julie was recognised not just for her contribution as a long standing Member and former Board Director of the Australian Camps Association, but also for her outstanding contribution to the Australian outdoor sector.

The CEO of the ACA, Pete Griffiths, was delighted to present Julie with the award during a gala dinner at the Association’s National Conference held in Melbourne.

Australian Camps Association Member

The ‘not-for-profit’ Australian Camps Association (ACA) is the national peak body for residential camps and outdoor activity providers. We strongly believe that participation in supported outdoor experiences through camps and led adventure activities leads to happier and healthier lives.

The Australian Camps Association was formed in 2005 through the amalgamation of the Camping Associations of Victoria, Tasmania, South Australian and Queensland. As a national body, the ACA works collaboratively and innovatively to develop and support camping and the outdoor sector.
